By Pick My Boogers Please!
The motif that occurs in “A Time of Quiet Between Storms”, “Kiss the Ring”, and “Only I Will Remain” might be the most haunting and beautiful music I’ve ever heard on film. It sets the mood and highlights the unfortunate and unforgettable events of the movie. It literally soothes my soul, and with the last listed song playing right after the film ended it made the already incredible watching experience into a haunting one. HZ has done top notch work before, but he has gone full time amazing here. The perfection of his compositions to every scene really did both parts of Dune well, and I can’t imagine any other composer pulling it off, not even John Williams(!). The doom and gloom clatter of the first Dune is still around, but when the delicate mournful tune of that duduk comes in, it’s on a new level of amazing. Then you’ve also got really dark Gregorian influences here too and you’ve got what may be one of the best soundtracks ever, comparable with Star Wars and Lord of the Rings by how the music enhances the film. Dune Part Two is an incredible movie with an incredible soundtrack, one that makes me think movies have a future beyond the now-collapsed Marvel and the dying Star Wars, both of which will most certainly be killed by this Dune adaptation for sure!

His first albums just blew my mind, but this one goes beyond, his work on Dune. This is just amazing a true servant in the industry once again he’s beyond the bar that has been set.

I feel like the soundtrack pulled my attention just as much as the visuals in the film did. Track 17 “Arrival” was made into a great sequence. Had it not been for the contrabassoon or contrabass clarinet-like sound the full weight of the visual elements would have been wasted.

The first film’s soundtrack is incredible. Hans outdid himself for part II! Every track packs a punch. I came looking for the music from the third trailer (“Kiss the Ring,” chef’s kiss) and ended up getting the entire album. The music is best enjoyed listening to all of it as a whole.
Great theater experience

Saw Dune 2 in a theater today. Music and sound overall blew me away. Not to mention the use of silence, especially during the duel between Paul and Feyd. As a long time fan of the books, these two movies and the soundtracks are a gift.

The score for part 1 was great! This is awesome! “A Time of Quiet Between the Storms”, “Kiss the Ring”, and “Only I Will Remain” are stunning and beautiful. “Harvester Attack”, “Worm Ride”, and “Gurney Battle” highlight some of the best parts of the first score. “The Emperor” is haunting.
