I absolutely love this album. To be honest if I hadn't come by this album my life would be in some way different. It is one of the greatest fusion jazz albums of all time and it has impacted my life greatly. I met Bill Frisell at one of his concerts about three years ago and he is a great guy and his music really reflects that. His music is extremely graceful, light-hearted, and powerful, just like he is. Amazing! He continues to go on easily as the most overlooked, under-appreciated and unheard-of musician of this era. He is one of the greatest guitarists to come along in a long time. Gone, Just Like a Train is his masterpiece closely followed by Good Dog, Happy Man. I Could listen to it all day long. Best songs are Blues for Los Angeles, Verona, Pleased to Meet You, Egg Radio and Gone, Just like a train but you should really get the whole album. A great piece of work!

I found this album in the library after looking for some old John Zorn stuff, and came to respect Frissell instantly. The album starts off with a grinding bass groove then builds to these great solos that don't employ a lot of notes, but say the world. The rest of the album is a great ride through eclectic styles. After a few listens, I hope you will gain an appreciation of Frissell's musicianship as I have. When tired of the "same ole, same ole," I can count on this album to transport me to another place.

SUBLIME, PRECISE, NOT OVER STATED, AN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT PIECE OF AMERICANA. NOT JAZZ, NOT FUNK, ROCK OR COUNTRY BUT WITH ELEMENTS OF THE BEST OF THOSE TRADITIONS. GREAT FOR A THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING OR A LAZY AFTERNOON IN THE GARDEN WITH YOUR LOVER...
