The fact that you would post with a 2 star rating simply because of your opinion of online downloading is lame. This Album is amazing, one of my favorite from Bill Frisell. The song Masters of War and Big Shoe make this whole album worth every penny. 5 stars and no less.

Frisell has done it. Finally a Guitar with beautiful tone. His combonation of reverb and delay in my opinion add natrual depth without sounding cheessy like other modern guitar players (Pat Metheny and Scofield). Great trio that really highlights the guitar. They don't dissapoint live ethier, this is what they really sound like.Check out Joey Barron (drums).

To the cleverly self-named "biteme" (unbelievably original, dude), instead of leaving a whiny, off-topic pout, why not just go to Frisell's (or Nonesuch records') website, and you'll get all the information you need -- more than you'd get from liner notes. What did you think you were downloading, a printable CD cover? (Not a bad idea, though, Apple...). It's about the music.

Overall, a really great CD. The three musicians all have a very loose, space oriented approach to their instruments. This CD is more relaxation than anything. The first track, "Lookout for Hope" is a perfect example. Frisell is always very tasteful when covering, adding his signature sound. His covers of "Masters of War" and "What the World Needs Now Is Love" are very gorgeous renditions. I was really a fan of the last song, "Cluck Old Hen". Started off with some delayed guitar, bass plucking, and Kenny Wollesen bowing a cymbal, this is the more avant garde track from the show. Excellent buy.

The recording is spectacular. Bill Frisell is a never ending boatload of surprises. Hats right the hell off: again! I just tried to purchase the cd on Frisell's site and their credit card stuff is screwed up, so I returned to iTunes. And, as always, no visual material from the cd I purchased. Why Apple doesn't offer this as an option is beyond me, considering how well they're doing at everything else. Please Apple: if we pay legit for a cd there is no reason not to include the visuals.

Directly through billfrisell(dot)com. Same price, plus there is FLAC option available. Shame on Itunes for not including the graphics. 4 stars for the music, as you can tell from the previews.

As with the original East/West, this "Further" material is some of Frisell's finest. Ever since East/West was released in August, I have been waiting and waiting for this release. It is better than I could have hoped. My favorite is "Egg Radio," but all songs are trypical Frisell enchantment. My only problem with this album is that it includes 2 songs already included in the original iTunes East/West album ("Big Shoe" and "What the World Needs Now"). But you must buy the album to get the the best of it, since 2 very long and magical great tunes (including a Frisell original) are "album only."

This is my first time purchasing a recording online, and under much duress. The music aside, there are no liner notes to refer to, no artwork to thumb through. Which performance is which? Who is playing on each track?
