These songs are far less sophisticated than they’re given credit for. The Sky Is A Landfill is one of the best 90’s rock songs of the decade, easily. It’s perfect. He took the soul and the power and genius of Grace and focused it into more searing and immediate pieces. Nightmares By The Sea is gorgeous ... the whole first disc is just sheer brilliance. Andy Wallace said the stripped back sound was basically what it sounded like live in the studio anyways.

For a posthumous album put together by multiple people using pieces of his existing work, it turned out really well. If you are a Buckley fan Iwould invest.

Is what Jeff Buckley marched to and to not stop and listen...is an exercise in stupidity.

I just bought this album and listening to it through, the only thing I find myself saying is, "Jesus Christ". In fact it's better than that other dude.

Wonderful album. It takes a few listens for those listeners like myself that are more interested in quick beats/riffs/catches, but - I had this playing in the background in my office a lot recently, fantastic as a compilation.

This wasn't an official release. Jeff's mom just came up with the idea to let these demos go out to the public. This is a very versatile compilation of songs that Jeff would've cut down to 10-12 when it would've been officially released, so many of these would have been out takes. There are many different genres, which shows Jeff's influences, and the fact that he was the only white guy with soul (Everybody Here Wants You). Jeff wasn't completely close to finishing the album, as he was still working in the studio in Memphis before he passed away, so who knows how many other awesome tracks he would have made before the release of his much anticipated sophomore album.

I have no doubt in my mind that if My Sweetheart The Drunk was completed that it would be a lot better then Grace. Quite a few tracks had great potential but other demos I did not like. Though it is a good album, I felt the 20 tracks were overkill, Especially tracks 16 to 18. If it were to be re-released then I would hope for those to be cut out of the entire album, Those were the worst quality. I still have to say that it's still a great Jeff Buckley album and a must pick up for any fan. (I would have given a 5 star rating if it wasnt for those tracks listed above).
